Darden Architects, based in Fresno, California, oversaw the architectural design of John H. Pitman High School, drawing on their experience with similar projects in the region.

The completion of the project was celebrated during a dedication ceremony on Saturday, August 10, 2002, attended by over 1,000 students eager to begin their educational journey at John H. Pitman High School.

Superintendent Gibson expressed satisfaction with the efficient management of the construction within the allocated budget and its early completion ahead of the scheduled school opening.
