John Hall Archer, OC SOM (July 11, 1914 – April 5, 2004) was a Canadian librarian, historian, and civil servant, and the first President of the University of Regina.
Born just south of Broadview, Saskatchewan, he was a rural school teacher from 1933 to 1940.
During World War II, he served with the Royal Canadian Artillery and was discharged with the rank of captain in 1945.
In 1949, he received a Bachelor of Library Science degree from McGill University.
From 1951 to 1964, he was the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan librarian and from 1956 to 1961 he was the assistant clerk of the Legislature.
