John Kelly (catcher)

John Francis Kelly (March 3, 1859 – April 13, 1908) was a Major League Baseball player.

Kelly played both catcher and first baseman during the game, and got one hit in four at bats.

In 1880, The Only Nolan recruited him to play for a team in Frisco, Texas but he returned home to New Jersey when his father died.

[2] In 1883 he played in 30 games for the Blues, all at catcher, and had 14 hits in 104 at-bats for a batting average of .135.

[3] Some sources list John F. Kelly as the manager of the Louisville Colonels in 1888 and 1889.
