John Makepeace

[3] Makepeace works predominantly for private clients, but previously designed furniture for the retail market including Habitat, Heals and Liberty's.

Makepeace was first introduced to fine woodworking when he was eleven years old when he first visited a furniture maker.

[5] Makepeace's woodworking career began when he started to work as a design consultant for the all India Handicraft Board.

He began to also receive recognition when he became a member of the Crafts Council and the Red Rose Guild[6] in the UK and a Trustee of the V&A, London.

[7][8] One of his early students here was Viscount Linley, nephew of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.
