John Moffatt (12 October 1922 – 23 December 2013) was a British physicist and academic.
He studied at Magdalen College, Oxford, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA), later promoted to Master of Arts (MA Oxon) degree, and a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) degree.
[1] From 1942 to 1946, Moffatt was involved in radar research with British Thomson-Houston.
Having joined the University of Oxford, he worked as a senior research officer at its Clarendon Laboratory.
He was also a lecturer in the Department of Nuclear Physics from 1965 and served as senior tutor of his college from 1972 to 1976.
