John Muir (1947 – February 2018)[3] was a Scottish footballer who played for St Johnstone and Alloa Athletic.
Willie Ormond brought Muir to Muirton Park in 1969 having been impressed by his goalscoring exploits at Alloa Athletic.
He made his debut on 2 December 1969 against Kilmarnock and scored his first goal against Hearts on 29 August 1970.
He made his final appearance for the club against Aberdeen on 21 April 1976 and was freed at the end of the 1975-76 season after relegation from the Scottish Premier Division.
