John Murillo is an American poet.

He is a Cave Canem fellow[1] and MacDowell fellow.

[2] He grew up in Los Angeles to an African-American father and Mexican mother.

[4] Murillo previously taught at Hampshire College and New York University.

[1] He currently teaches at Wesleyan University[5][6] and Sierra Nevada College.
