John Simpson (rugby union)

John Simpson (2 September 1872 – 11 January 1921) was a Scotland international rugby union player.

He later became an international referee and was the 31st President of the Scottish Rugby Union.

[3] Simpson was capped eleven times for Scotland between 1893 and 1899.

[4] He was part of the Scotland side that won the Triple Crown in 1894-95 season.

[7] He died on 11 January 1921, leaving a widow Margaret Lockhart Mitchell.
