John Walker (Missouri politician)

He later moved to Kentucky, and eventually settled in Howard County, Missouri in 1818.

Walker was a member of a prominent Kentucky political family, and was the brother of U.S.

His son John George Walker served as a Confederate general during the Civil War.

Nonetheless, he was exonerated by the Missouri General Assembly on charges of misappropriation of funds, and his estate was paid compensation for his service as state treasurer.

Several years later, the missing money was discovered in between the metal lining and walls of the chest.
