After playing for Pollok,[1] Woods signed for Rangers at the age of 15,[2] and made one appearance for them in the Scottish Football League during the 1954–1955 season.
[3] After leaving Rangers, Woods next played for Hamilton Academical, scoring 19 goals in 49 League appearances for them.
In 1960, Woods played for Canada's national team on tour in the Soviet Union and United Kingdom.
