Jon Olav Alstad (born 9 August 1968) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party.
He graduated from Stjørdal Upper Secondary School in 1987, and worked as a hired farmer from 1986 to 1989.
From 1987 to 1989, he chaired the local chapter of the Workers' Youth League (AUF) from 1987 to 1989.
In 1993, he was elected county leader for Nord-Trøndelag Youth Against Norwegian Membership in the European Union.
After losing his regular seat in parliament, he studied business administration at Nord-Trøndelag University College from 2002 to 2004.
