[7] On 12 August 2010, he joined Scottish Premier League side Hamilton Academical on loan until January 2011.
[8] On 1 February 2011, Routledge signed a permanent deal with Hamilton until the end of the season after having his contract cancelled by Wigan.
[9] In the summer of 2011 he joined Stockport County before in January 2012 returning to Hamilton on loan until the end of the season.
[12] In July 2015, Routledge signed a one-year contract with Scottish Championship side Dumbarton.
[14] After 38 appearances he left the club in May 2016 and moved to Wales,[15] joining Welsh Premier League champions The New Saints.
