Joseph Marshall Francis (April 6, 1862 – February 13, 1939) was an American Episcopal bishop.
He was educated at the Episcopal Academy, before studying at Racine College from where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in 1883.
In 1887 he became rector of St Luke's Church in Whitewater, Wisconsin, before leaving for Japan to serve as a missionary.
Whilst there, he was Priest-in-Charge of St Andrew's Cathedral in Tokyo and Professor at Trinity Divinity School.
In 1897, he returned to the United States and became rector of St Paul's Church in Evansville, Indiana in 1898.
