Joyce Msuya

[1] From 2018 to 2021, she served as the Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) at the level of Assistant Secretary-General.

[2] She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Immunology from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland, in 1992.

[2] Msuya subsequently served as an advisor for the World Bank's Vice President for the East Asia and Pacific region, based in Washington, DC.

[4][5] From 2018 to 2021, Msuya served as the Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) at the level of Assistant Secretary-General.

[4] Following the resignation of Erik Solheim in November 2018, Msuya was appointed acting Executive Director of UNEP.
