Julia Ann Pierson (born July 21,[citation needed] 1959)[1][2] is an American former law enforcement official.
On March 27, 2013, President Barack Obama appointed her as the 23rd Director of the United States Secret Service.
Amid a series of security lapses involving the Secret Service, she resigned the position on October 1, 2014.
[6] She was an Explorer in the Learning for Life program of the Boy Scouts of America in a post specializing in law enforcement chartered to the Orlando Police Department.
Approximately one week prior to the White House intrusion, there had been another security breach when it was discovered that an armed security guard, who had not been cleared by the Secret Services' advance team, rode in the same elevator as President Obama during a visit to Atlanta.
