Juliet Clannon Cushing

Her father was born in Ireland; he was active in New York politics, and died when Juliet was a girl.

She and settlement house worker Cornelia Foster Bradford founded the Consumers League of New Jersey in 1900, and Cushing served as president of the organization for its first thirty years.

[9][3] In 1928, she was awarded an honorary degree from the New Jersey College for Women, "in recognition for Mrs. Cushing's child welfare work.

[3] Juliet Clannon married railroad official George Wade Brooks Cushing (1818-1888) in 1875; she was his second wife.

Juliet Clannon Cushing died in 1934, aged 88 years, at her daughter's home in Short Hills, New Jersey.
