Jurassic World Rebirth

Jurassic World Rebirth is an upcoming American science fiction action film directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp.

The film will star a new ensemble cast led by Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey with Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, and Ed Skrein.

Zora Bennett, a covert operative, is recruited by a pharmaceutical company to collaborate with paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis and team leader Duncan Kincaid on a top-secret mission.

Their objective is to infiltrate a forbidden island—once the site of the original research facility for Jurassic Park—and locate the three largest prehistoric species from land, sea, and air.

[10] Director and writer Colin Trevorrow, who spent nine years working on the Jurassic World trilogy, said he would likely not return for another film, except in a possible advisory role.

[11] Development on Jurassic World Rebirth began when executive producer Steven Spielberg asked Koepp about returning to write a new film in the series, which led to an exchange of ideas.

Koepp also reread Michael Crichton's novel Jurassic Park (1990) and its sequel The Lost World (1995), incorporating concepts from both books.

[20] David Leitch was briefly in talks to direct the film during early February 2024,[21] but negotiations broke down after several days,[22] as the project's progress up to that point left little room for his creative input.

[18][25] Edwards had planned to take a break from studio filmmaking and was busy writing a new film when he was offered the Jurassic World project, which he described as "the only movie that would make me drop everything like a stone and dive right in".

[24] A scene involving a pterosaur nest was among those modified by Edwards; originally written to take place in a cave, he made the decision to set it inside an abandoned ancient temple instead.

Scarlett Johansson,[26] Jonathan Bailey,[27] Manuel Garcia-Rulfo,[28] Rupert Friend,[29] Mahershala Ali,[30] Luna Blaise,[31] David Iacono,[32] Audrina Miranda,[33] and Béchir Sylvain eventually joined the project.
