Juris Pūce

Shortly after the Zolitūde shopping centre roof collapse on 21 November 2013, Juris Pūce resigned from the position of the Secretary of State, due to the fact that the foundation led by his wife had received donations from the respective construction company Re & Re.

Juris Pūce has turned to Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau himself with a request to evaluate if because of the aforementioned facts he has broken the law.

In 2015 the Parliamentary investigative commission issued a final report, declaring that Pūce as the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economics was one of the 7 people politically and morally responsible for the Zolitūde shopping centre roof collapse.

", but in January 2019, when the government of Krišjānis Kariņš was approved, he held the position of Minister of Environmental Protection and Regional Development.

As a result of the reputation scandal, J. Pūce also resigned from the chairman of the board of the party "For Latvia's Development" and the political alliance "Development/For!"

On June 16, 2021, the Saeima approved J. Pūce as the head of the Latvian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE PA).
