Jury Duty (2007 TV series)

Jury Duty is an American syndicated nontraditional/arbitration-based reality court show that premiered on September 17, 2007.

While the show's general concept shared that of most court shows, where two litigants in a civil case present their interpretation of a dispute before a "judge" (in this case, former defense attorney Bruce Cutler), Jury Duty differed drastically in format.

The second segment involved the three jurors cross-examining the litigants, after which Cutler gave the jury their instructions and reminded them what they must do to determine a verdict.

After the commercial break following the presentation of the case, the litigants were taken out of the courtroom and the home audience was shown the panel's deliberations.

If they couldn't do that, then Cutler rendered his own verdict (just like in most small claims cases and TV court shows).
