Kōsaku Yamashita (山下耕作, Yamashita Kōsaku, 10 December 1930 – 6 December 1998) was a Japanese film director who specialized in directing Yakuza films.
[5] In 1952, He graduated from Kyoto University and joined Toei Film.
[6] He was working an office job, but three years later,[6] he became an assistant director under Tomu Uchida and Kōzaburō Yoshimura.
[7] Yamashita made his directorial debut with Wakatono Senryu Hada in 1961.
