The station is currently owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. and features programming from Premiere Networks.

Studios and tower were at "The Market Place" strip shopping center in the 4700 block of Bosque Blvd.

On July 26, 1993, the station changed its call sign to KCKR, and on February 25, 2003, to the current KBGO.

In late 70s/early 80s Waco and Austin built new sites with powers of 100,000 watts on thousand foot towers.
