Kadoma District

Its chief city, Kadoma, with an estimated population of 76,890 in 2004,[2] lies approximately 166 kilometres (103 mi), by road, southwest of Harare, the national capital and largest city in the country.

[4] Cam and Motor is the largest gold producer in Zimbabwe's history.

Under the present regime, Cam and Motor is owned by Rio Tinto Zimbabwe.

Cotton was grown in the district and there was some development of related industries before 1990.

The David Whithead Textile Manufacturing Company was opened in 1952.
