Kami-Ijūin Station

Kami-Ijūin Station (上伊集院駅, Kami-Ijūin-eki) is a passenger railway station located in the city of Kagoshima, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan.

In 1985 Shoyo High School opened near Kami-Ijuin Station, and the resulting increase in passenger numbers caused the station building to become too small, so it was replaced with the current building.

With the privatization of Japanese National Railways (JNR), the successor of JGR, on 1 April 1987, JR Kyushu took over control of the station.

[3][4] In fiscal 2020, the station was used by an average of 1501 passengers daily (boarding passengers only), and it ranked 98th among the busiest stations of JR Kyushu.
