Kanmaki (上牧町, Kanmaki-chō) is a town located in Kitakatsuragi District, Nara Prefecture, Japan.
Nara Prefecture Kanmaki has a humid subtropical climate (Köppen Cfa) characterized by warm summers and cool winters with light to no snowfall.
During most of the Edo period, it was part of the holdings of Kōriyama Domain, and was a river port with connections to Osaka and was noted for footwear production.
Kanmaki has a mayor-council form of government with a directly elected mayor and a unicameral town council of 12 members.
In terms of national politics, the town is part of the Nara 2nd district of the lower house of the Diet of Japan.
