[citation needed] He became Kapudan Pasha for a brief time during the first reign of Mustafa I (1617–1618).
[1] During Mustafa's second reign, he was suspected, together with his wife, of wanting to install his son on the throne.
He was dismissed on 13 June 1622, and was tortured until his death because he executed Osman II without the confirmation of the Sultan Mustafa I.
He married Şah Sultan[citation needed], daughter of Mehmed III and Halime Hatun, in 1604 (consummated in March 1606).
[2] The couple had two children, a son named Sultanzade Süleyman Bey and a daughter.
