On this date, a gathering of fifteen British men convened, laying the foundation for the club's membership and setting the course for its illustrious history.
[6] Right from the beginning, the boat-house described in 1890 as “a pretty châlet of wood club”, had a social function as meeting place for the privileged of those days.
