Kate Heinzelman

Kate Elizabeth Heinzelman is an American attorney who served as the general counsel of the Central Intelligence Agency from 2022 to 2025.

[2] From 2009 to 2010, Heinzelman served as a law clerk for Judge Merrick Garland of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

From 2015 to 2017, she served as deputy general counsel of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

[3][4] President Joe Biden announced his nomination of Heinzelman on March 8, 2022 for the position of General Counsel of the Central Intelligence Agency.
