Kate Newby

Kate Newby (born 1979) is an artist from New Zealand.

[2] She attended the Elam School of Fine Arts, receiving a BFA in 2001, an MFA in 2007, and a PhD in 2015.

[5] She creates her installations based on their site and setting, often disused urban environments.

[6] Using commonplace materials such as pebbles, nails, and rope, her work explores the details of everyday life.

[7] Newby was a member of the Auckland artist space Gambia Castle.
