Kathleen A. FitzGibbon

Kathleen A. FitzGibbon is an American diplomat serving as the United States ambassador to Niger since August 2023.

FitzGibbon also worked in the Office to Combat and Monitor Trafficking in Persons in the State Department.

Before joining the State Department, she was a lecturer at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

[1] On July 29, 2022, President Joe Biden announced his intent to nominate FitzGibbon as the next ambassador to Niger.

[5] The U.S. Department of State announced on the same day that FitzGibbon will not formally present her credentials due to the 2023 Nigerien crisis.
