Kathleen Blake Yancey (5 July 1950[1]) is the Kellogg W. Hunt Professor of English at Florida State University in the rhetoric and composition program.
[6] She also discusses how scholars in academia do not necessarily focus on this concept but emphasizes the importance of it as this type of writing could give more creative freedom than a traditional assignment.

[11] She has talked about how administrators and teachers should find ways to help students incorporate their self-sponsored and everyday writing practices into the academic classroom.
