Keisen, Fukuoka

Keisen (桂川町, Keisen-machi) is a town located in Kaho District, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.

Fukuoka Prefecture Keisen has a humid subtropical climate (Köppen Cfa) characterized by warm summers and cool winters with light to no snowfall.

Stone tools from the Japanese Paleolithic and numerous burial mounds from the Kofun period indicate that the area has been inhabited for many thousands of years.

Keisen has a mayor-council form of government with a directly elected mayor and a unicameral town council of 10 members.

In terms of national politics, the city is part of the Fukuoka 8th district of the lower house of the Diet of Japan.
