Ken Goodman

[4] After publishing an influential book on the subject of whole language, Goodman began to create a psycholinguistic and sociolinguistic model of reading inspired by the work of Noam Chomsky.

Goodman's theory and strong convictions made him an icon of the whole language movement and a lightning rod for criticism from those who disagree with it.

His last book was "Reading- The Grand Illusion: How and Why People Make Sense of Print" with contributions from linguist, Peter H. Fries and neurologist, Steven L. Strauss and was published by Routledge in 2016.
