Kent Kennan

Kent Wheeler Kennan (April 18, 1913, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin – November 1, 2003, in Austin, Texas) was an American composer, author, educator, and professor.

His work as a professor was briefly interrupted by World War II, when he served as a bandmaster for the United States Army.

His compositions include works for orchestra, chamber ensemble and solo instrument as well as songs and choral music.

His Night Soliloquy was written in 1936 and is set for solo flute, piano and strings.
