Khin Maung Swe was born on 20 July 1942[2] in Ngathaingchaung, Pathein District.
At the invitation of Aung San Suu Kyi, he became a member of the National League for Democracy (NLD) in October 1988.
In October 1990, Khin Maung Swe was convicted of sedition and sentenced to 17 years in prison.
With other democratic parties, NDF complained to the Burmese government of widespread vote rigging.
[3] He was appointed as a member of the State Administration Council on 2 February 2021, in the aftermath of the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état.
