The vision of the charity is to free lives from the restrictions, fear, anxiety and life limiting nature of kidney disease.
The charity was founded in 1961 and was formerly known as the National Kidney Research Fund.
[1] The purpose of the charity is to use donations to fund research to: Kidney disease affects three million people in the UK, treatments can be gruelling and currently there is no cure.
"[2] Kidney Research UK depends on the support of the general public to fund our life-saving research; they receive almost no Government financial support.
One area of fundraising which generates income for the charity is its events programme.
