Kilkishen (Irish: Cill Chisín)[2] is a village in southeast County Clare, Ireland.
[5] The first Catholic church at Kilkishen, St Senan's, was probably built very early in the 19th century.
It is mentioned in an 1811 report of a dispute that led to violence over who should sit nearest to the altar.
The history of the Clare Shout is uncertain, but is believed to date back to pre-Celtic times in Ireland.
[11] The gateway of Glenwood House in Kilkishen was the site of an ambush by the IRA in 1921 which resulted in the death of four police constables.
