Kim won the final match in the heavyweight division for South Korea.
Kim also took the gold medal at the 11th, 12th and 13th Taekwondo World Championships 1993, 1995 and 1997 in New York, Manila and Hong Kong, respectively.
[4] He was dubbed the prince of taekwondo in the 1990s due to his accuracy, careful game management, and his fast, powerful spinning kick.
