Knipowitschia

Knipowitschia is a genus of marine, fresh and brackish water gobies native to Eurasia.

The genus name almost certainly honours Nikolai Mikhailovich Knipovich (1862-1938), a biologist who led a number of expeditions to the Caspian Sea.
