Knockagh is one of the seven district electoral areas (DEA) in Mid and East Antrim, Northern Ireland.
[2] Knockagh forms part of the East Antrim constituencies for the Northern Ireland Assembly and UK Parliament.
It was created for the 1985 local elections, replacing Carrickfergus Area A which had existed since 1973.
For the 1993 local elections, it gained a sixth ward, Burleigh Hill.
For the 2014 local elections it was reduced by one ward, with Clipperstown replaced with Sunnylands.
