She was married to Dhimitër Progoni who held the title Prince of Albania and was the ruler of the Principality of Arbanon.
She later married Gregorios Kamonas, who sought to strengthen ties with Serbia and secure Arbanon through their marriage.
[1] Komnena was born to King Stephen II and his first wife Eudokia Angelina, a Greek noblewoman from the Angelos dynasty, and was thus a granddaughter of Emperor Alexios III Angelos.
She married Dhimitër Progoni in 1208, and a brief alliance was formed between Serbia and Arbanon amidst conflicts with the Republic of Venice.
After Dhimitër died in 1215, the power was left to Komnena,[2] who shortly afterward married Greco-Albanian lord Grigor Kamona.
