Kootenay-Monashee

It was established under the name Kootenay West by the Electoral Districts Act, 2008 and first contested in the 2009 general election.

The riding adopted its current name and had minor boundary changes from the 2024 election, which implemented the results of the 2021 redistribution.

It is located in southern British Columbia and is bordered by Washington, United States to the south.

Communities in the electoral district consist of Castlegar, Trail, Rossland, Fruitvale, and Nakusp.

[2] On account of the realignment of electoral boundaries, most incumbents did not represent the entirety of their listed district during the preceding legislative term.
