Kosmos 2447

Kosmos 2447 (Russian: Космос 2447 meaning Cosmos 2447) is one of a set of three Russian military satellites launched in 2008 as part of the GLONASS satellite navigation system.

A Proton-M carrier rocket with a Blok DM upper stage was used to perform the launch which took place at 10:43 UTC on 25 December 2008.

The launch successfully placed the satellites into Medium Earth orbit.

The United States Space Command assigned it the Satellite Catalog Number 33466.

It was in orbital slot 3 but was taken out of service on 8 September 2010 due to equipment failure.
