Krieger is a lunar impact crater on the eastern part of the Oceanus Procellarum.
[1] In the past the floor of Krieger has been flooded by basaltic lava, leaving only a low, circular, somewhat polygonal ridge formed by the rim.
Krieger is a crater of Upper (Late) Imbrian age.
[2] Two tiny craters next to the eastern rim have been designated Rocco and Ruth.
By convention these features are identified on lunar maps by placing the letter on the side of the crater midpoint that is closest to Krieger.
