Royal Swedish Academy of Music

At the time of its foundation, only one of its co-founder was a professional musician, Ferdinand Zellbell the Younger.

[1] The Academy is an independent organization, which acts to promote the artistic, scientific, educational and cultural development of music.

The Academy consists of a maximum of 170 Swedish and foreign members belonging to various spheres of the music industry and has a research committee which has been operational since 1980s.

The Academy also publishes various biographies, debate books, analytical writings, etc.

and has been offering music students scholarships and various prizes for outstanding contributions in the field.
