This large north-south artery of the eastern part of the Island of Montreal is designated as a boulevard north of Saint-Zotique Street in the Saint-Léonard and Montréal-Nord boroughs, while between Saint-Zotique Street and Rosemont Boulevard, it is known as "Rue Lacordaire" (Lacordaire Street) in the borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.
Exit 77 of Quebec Autoroute 40 leads to Lacordaire Boulevard.
The Exo commuter train station Gare Saint-Léonard–Montréal-Nord is located on the boulevard.
The Blue Line extension eastward will feature a new unnamed station at the intersection of Jean-Talon street and Lacordaire boulevard.
[3] The boulevard opened in 1911, but it was expanded only in the 1960s north of Saint-Zotique Street to keep up with the demographic growth of the island.
