The first Swiss club for women, Schweizerischer Damen-Skiclub [de], followed some years later which established some international rivalry.
Greta, Lady Raeburn led the LSC to victory three times in friendly races.
[1] The first Alpine Ski Club had been created by Lunn in 1908 and, although popular, it denied membership to women.
[2] In 1929 a letter was received inviting the British to send skiers to compete in an event in Poland.
