Lambertus Johannes Toxopeus (1894 - April 21, 1951)[1][2] was a Java-born, Dutch university teacher, entomologist, lepidopterist and botanical collector.
[3] In 1921-1922 he participated in the Royal Dutch Geographical and Treub Society expedition to the western Maluku Islands.
[3] He gained his doctoral degree in 1930 at the University of Amsterdam and then returned to the island of Java.
[3] He mainly worked in Indonesia, then known as the Dutch East Indies, and specialised in the families Lycaenidae and Hesperiidae.
