Lawrence Mel Brooks (born February 26, 1950, in New York City)[1] is an American hockey journalist for the New York Post, covering the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League.
[2] He served as president of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association from 2001 to 2003.
[3] He was awarded the Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award from the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2018.
[4] From 1982 until 1992, Brooks was a senior vice president of communications in the New Jersey Devils organization.
