Larry Ray Faulkner (born November 26, 1944) is an American academic and businessman.
[2] He served as provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Illinois.
[1] From 2006 to 2008, he chaired the National Mathematics Advisory Panel, a panel appointed by President George W. Bush to advise the President and the United States Secretary of Education on the best use of scientifically based research to advance the teaching and learning of mathematics.

On August 13, 2010, the University of Texas at Austin's nanoscience building was named the Larry R. Faulkner Nano Science and Technology Building by the UT System Board of Regents in recognition of former president Faulkner's leadership in bringing the university's nanotechnology program to national prominence.
