Larry Wayne Womble[1] (June 6, 1941 – May 14, 2020) was a Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly representing the state's seventy-first House district, including constituents in Forsyth County.
A retired educator from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Womble served nine terms in the state House.
degree in Education at Winston-Salem State University in 1963, and then attended the University of North Carolina - Greensboro where he earned a Master of Education degree in Administration (and a Principal's Certificate) in 1977.
[4] Womble launched his political career at the age of 40, with his election to the Winston-Salem Board of Aldermen.
He served on the Board until 1993, and was elected to the North Carolina General Assembly in 1995.
